Using Service and Resource Sharing and Assessment Tools to Strengthen Public Health Infrastructure
ResourcesSession Summary
In this session, PHAB describes these tools, including how the Foundational Public Health Services (FPHS) Capacity and Cost Assessment can identify current capacity and needs related to the Foundational Capabilities, can quantify current spending towards the FPHS, and support decision-making on where and how to enhance efforts to assure public health infrastructure. PHAB also describes how service and resource sharing strategies like joint purchasing power, regional staffing models, MOUs for service delivery across jurisdictional boundaries, and more can be used to find ways to assure public health services through financial constraints. Participants receive practical examples, tools, and activities tailored to PHIG recipients, with a focus on using these approaches in infrastructure development, workforce planning, and sustainable service delivery in today’s rapidly evolving public health landscape.
