  • CNMI’s Healthcare Corporation Kickstarts Strategic Planning with PHIG Funds

    The Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI) Commonwealth Healthcare Corporation (CHCC) is using PHIG funds to kickstart strategic planning. In February 2024, CHCC staff and PHIG technical assistance national partners came together to assess CHCC’s readiness for strategic planning efforts and create the support structures (e.g., committees, charters, and timelines) to facilitate success. As of November 2024, DMI-specific and CHCC-wide strategic planning efforts are underway, with a complementary workforce effort set to begin in 2025. These PHIG-funded efforts complement CHCC’s ongoing Community Health Assessment, Community Health Improvement Plan, and routine quality improvement efforts. Grounded in community-centered and collaborative planning processes, CNMI has a clear path ahead.
