This training series aims to strengthen the capacity of public health professionals at governmental health departments to engage effectively in the policy-making and legislative processes. Led by the Louisiana Public Health Institute (LPHI), this training is tailored for local and city/county health department staff who want to build skills in advocating for public health priorities within their jurisdictions and in alignment with state-level policy efforts. The series features two interactive webinars, utilizing case studies, peer learning, and applied practice to drive participants’ capacity building.
The first webinar will be held on Monday, September 8th, and focuses on:
- What is lobbying vs. advocacy?
- How to set policy priorities based on capacity?
The second webinar will be held on Wednesday, October 8th, and focuses on:
- How to communicate strategically and effectively?
- Resources to support continued learning and application.
A separate registration is required for Part 2 of the series.
