This workshop series consists of three distinct sessions designed to deepen your understanding of evaluation and data in public health. Each session provides a unique perspective on the data life cycle, offering participants the opportunity to engage in collaborative dialogue, challenge traditional frameworks, and explore innovative strategies.
Session 1: Public Health & The Data Life Cycle
This section will focus on the importance of evaluation within the data life cycle to support quality and impactful public health outcomes. Effective evaluation requires adaptability, preparedness, and responsiveness to changing conditions. Community engagement, including residents and community-based organizations, is essential to ensure alignment with organizational goals and to challenge misaligned narratives. By emphasizing relationships, connection-building, and attention to shifting power dynamics, we seek to cultivate an adaptive framework that addresses existing limitations in the data life cycle. These include challenges in collecting disaggregated demographic data, which are necessary to accurately reflect health outcomes and identify disparities.
