This 3-part live webinar series introduces participants to the public health system transformation process. Session content aligns with the recently released Blueprint for Public Health System Transformation, which views standard system transformation theory through a public health lens and includes resources and lessons learned from states engaged in intentional system transformation efforts. The series will be grounded in the Foundational Public Health Services framework and state-based approaches to transformation; however, concepts can be applied to other system structures and frameworks.
Learning Objectives: Through a mix of lecture, discussion, case studies, guest speakers, and in and out of session applied exercises, participants will be able to:
- describe the public health system transformation process;
- consider how various system transformation tools, resources, and examples in practice can be scaled and applied across phases and in different contexts; and
- draft (or revise an existing) plan to plan for system transformation.
Audience: The intended audience for this series is health department staff and system partners who are new to public health system transformation and are interested in getting started with transformation efforts in their community or state. PHAB welcomes individual participants OR “system-based teams” comprised of 3-4 individuals. Due to the participatory nature of this series, size will be limited to no more than 15 individuals and/or system-based teams. Participants are expected to attend all sessions and should be prepared to engage in one hour of additional work – applied exercises, reading, etc. – outside of the virtual sessions.
Session Dates/Times:

- Feb 3, 2026: 3-5p EST
