SUMMARY:Harnessing AI to Strengthen Public Health Systems through Smart Deployment
DESCRIPTION:Artificial Intelligence (AI) is rapidly reshaping how public health organizations analyze data\, improve systems\, design interventions\, and deliver services. While AI offers powerful opportunities to strengthen public health practice\, it can also introduce organizational disruption and\, if implemented without care\, lead to ineffective or even harmful strategies. \nIn this webinar\, the Public Health Foundation and Riester will discuss the important planning and implementation steps prior to and following the deployment of AI. Speakers will walk through a real-world immunization program example demonstrating how AI can be used to examine and project trends\, integrate evidence with local context (such as cultural norms\, demographics\, and community narratives)\, inform strategy development\, and recommend potential areas for process improvements and workforce training. This webinar will also explore how quality improvement and performance management methods can be paired with AI for selecting and improving public health strategies and interventions. \nLearning Objectives: \n\nDescribe the planning steps prior to and after deploying AI in an organization\nExplain how AI can be used as a tool to improve a public health program\nExplore ways to use quality improvement and performance management to enhance what AI produces\n\nFeatured Speakers: \n\nRon Bialek\, President and CEO\, Public Health Foundation\nJack Moran\, Senior Advisor\, Artificial Intelligence and Quality\, Public Health Foundation\nAlan Perkel\, Chief Digital Officer\, Riester

SUMMARY:PHIG VOICES Kick-Off Webinar
DESCRIPTION:During this webinar\, the National Evaluation Team (NET) will provide an overview of the upcoming PHIG Views\, Outcomes\, Impacts\, Challenges\, and Experiences Survey (VOICES)\, including its purpose\, key topics\, and how the information will be used. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and learn about additional support available once the survey launches in mid-May. \nView the Frequently Asked Questions about PHIG VOICES. \nThe purpose of PHIG VOICES is to: \n\nLift up recipient experiences to support shared learning nationwide\nExplore specific topics important to recipients\, such as workforce outcomes and PHIG’s impact on local public health infrastructure\nDescribe PHIG’s value to inform future public health investments\nFill information gaps that existing data (e.g.\, your agency’s performance measures or progress reports) cannot answer\n\nResponses to PHIG VOICES will not assess or evaluate individual agency performance\, affect your PHIG funding\, or identify or single out individual recipients without explicit written permission. \n

SUMMARY:Step by Step: a Phased Approach to Succession Planning in Public Health (Session 3 of 3)
DESCRIPTION:This online training and technical assistance (TTA) series is designed to provide local governmental public health practitioners with knowledge and tools to develop robust succession plans and demystify the succession planning process overall. The training comprises 15 contact hours\, including: \n\nViewing 3 hours of pre-recorded trainings.\nParticipating in 3 one-hour technical assistance (TA) sessions held live via Zoom in January\, April\, and June.\nCompleting 9 hours of asynchronous pre/post work across the series.\n\nParticipants interested in getting started with succession planning at their agency\, and committing to progressing through the guided program are encouraged to register. During the course\, participants will\, at minimum\, develop a plan in a phased approach for future succession planning\, specifically for a small team or unit. If a succession planning team has already been established or interested staff are ready to dive in\, they are encouraged to complete all phases by June. If not\, completing what you can is completely acceptable; all participants will work through their own timelines. Upon completion of the course\, participants will have the knowledge\, skills\, and resources to move succession planning forward in a broader way\, across their entire organization. \nParticipants are expected to attend all 3 live virtual TA sessions\, which will occur on: \n\nJanuary 26\, 2026 from 12-1 PM ET\nApril 20\, 2026 from 12-1 PM ET\nJune 29\, 2026 from 12-1 PM ET
