SUMMARY:Power Hour PLUS: Expand Your Impact - From Urgency to Action: Advancing Decision-Making (Session 1)
DESCRIPTION:ASTHO’s Power Hour PLUS: Expand Your Impact series equips public health leaders with the strategic insights\, practical tools\, and real-world strategies needed to lead with confidence and drive meaningful change. Building upon the success of the traditional 60-minute Power Hour format\, Power Hour PLUS expands each session to 75 minutes\, creating additional time for deeper exploration of leadership concepts\, meaningful discussion\, practical application\, and peer-to-peer engagement. Over the course of five interactive sessions\, participants will explore key leadership competencies that are critical for organizational success in today’s complex public health environment. \nIn the first session\, From Urgency to Action: Paths to Advancing Decision-Making\, participants will explore how to distinguish between solvable problems and underlying polarities\, determine when action is needed\, and structure decisions that move teams and organizations toward desired outcomes. \nIn this session\, participants will: \n\nDifferentiate between problems that can be solved and polarities that must be managed over time.\nEmploy key diagnostic questions to determine whether a challenge is real\, relevant\, and ready for action.\nDefine decision criteria grounded in organizational values and strategic objectives to improve leadership decision-making.\n\nRegistration will close on Monday\, Sept. 28.
