The Principles and Strategies to create an Equitable CHW Workforce study is offered to you by the National Association of Community Health Workers (NACHW) to present a brief background and awareness of existing tools and resources of CHW workforce studies, discuss challenges and the unprecedented opportunity in assessing the CHW workforce. During this webinar, we will also provide actionable principles and strategies to develop an equitable state-level workforce study to advance and sustain the CHW workforce and public health infrastructure programs. We offer a critical and practical first step toward planning and implementing an equitable state-level CHW workforce study to advance and sustain the CHW workforce and public health infrastructure programs.

Objectives:

  • Get to know NACHW team and learn about workforce development offerings.
  • Describe the history of CHW workforce studies and the opportunity for implementing CHW workforce studies in your state toward sustaining the CHW profession and thus public health infrastructure programs.
  • Explain how a CHW workforce study can be used to drive equity in CHW leadership, engagement, and partnership to drive diversity, equity, and inclusion in your state.
  • Identify first steps through an assessment tool for public health teams to get started at the state-level.
