SUMMARY:Coaching Forward: From Feedback to Growth\, Accountability\, and Action
DESCRIPTION:The Essentials of Leadership and Management (ELM) Power Hour PLUS: Expand Your Impact series equips public health leaders with the strategic insights\, practical tools\, and real-world strategies needed to lead with confidence and drive meaningful change. Building upon the success of the traditional 60-minute Power Hour format\, Power Hour PLUS expands each session to 75 minutes\, creating additional time for deeper exploration of leadership concepts\, meaningful discussion\, practical application\, and peer-to-peer engagement. \nDescription: This session builds on the fundamentals of feedback to develop leaders’ coaching skills\, focusing on the conversations that happen after feedback is delivered. Participants will practice shifting from advice-giving to inquiry\, learn how to clarify expectations without micromanaging\, and develop a follow-up strategy that reinforces growth and accountability over time. \nUpon successful completion of this workshop\, participants will be able to: \n\nDistinguish between feedback\, coaching\, and direction — and know which one the moment calls for.\nUse powerful coaching questions to shift ownership\, promote reflection\, and generate next steps.\nApply a feedback-to-coaching bridge that supports both growth and accountability without micromanaging.\nDesign a simple follow-up strategy to reinforce progress and sustain momentum after a coaching conversation.\n\nSpeaker: Laura E.
